These hypotheses are the creation of David Cunningham, a retired designer of operating systems and television news networks. David contemplated this site’s first proposal, the Midnight Meridian Method (M3), in the 1970s while on staff at the University of Missouri after a professor pointed out Needham’s Science & Civilization in China and Needham and de Solla Price’s Heavenly Clockwork, among other intriguing works.

David, as did thousands of others, went off searching for the holy grail of ancient cartography, but became distracted for the past 40 years by family, job and life in general. David is now picking up where he left of, and he quickly will point out that he believes his midnight meridian method for determination of longitude may not be logically viable, and even if it is, it is more likely he has only rediscovered ancient Chinese knowledge regarding the intersection of astronomy, horology and cartography.

This site is an offering of intellectual conversation on multiple topics. Read, enjoy, and contribute!

David resides in Kansas City, Missouri.
